Things I Dislike

Notice I didn't say you know why? Well it's for a REALLY good reason! I don't want Danny to grow up saying he HATES something, I would prefer he uses the word dislikes, and to date he has gotten really good at saying what he dislikes...While I have an ever growing list that I feel the need to share with you.
I thought about numbering it, but that seems a to take away from my rants, so here's the list:

Lies, lying or liers
Spam - the kind that takes out your account linked to your life!
Heights - with the exception of Roller coasters
People who yell in front of my office while I am on the phone
People who talk to much
Get overs
People who say they will do something and don't follow thru
Loud noises

Although there is also a short list of things I do like,

Old People
Children laughing
Sleeping-which I miss terribly
The beach
Mickey Mouse
Looking up words I don't know
The environment
Word Searches

Why did I go on this rant? Well it's been one of those days and I needed someone to listen to me!

Snow, Snow and More Snow

Okay so we've had our fair share of snow, for the last 2 weeks it has snowed at least 4 times 2 significantly. Last week was a doozie, 3 feet in 2 days! I went out in the middle of the yard and was waist deep in snow. Although it was perfect for snow activities, I didn't participate except to shovel due to the lack of snow pants.
Other then that life has been moving along, we have been very busy with school and scout things. Tonight we are going to Family Fun Fair at school and tomorrow afternoon we have soccer and tomorrow night we have Blue and Gold (Big scouting event). Next weekend Danny and I and a few of our fellow scouts will be camping on the Battleship, NJ and hiking the Freedom Trail in Philly...cannot wait!
Can I tell you that I'm tired of eating pizza? Lent is really getting to me this year! I miss my virtual games which I have given up and I'm tired of making and eating pizza. Ever since my boys found out I can make a killer pizza that has been the one thing they have asked for OVER AND OVER...I miss meat!!! On the upside, we only have 4 weeks left before we can be carnivores again.

Happy Presidents Day

Happy Presidents Day Y'all!!!

Hope you all had the day off and are enjoying the day. We have a tradition here on Presidents Day Monday, we call it "sugar cookie day". For as long as I can remember that is what Danny and I have done on this day since we moved into this house. Today was no different, except we cheated...We used a Betty Crocker mix and didn't do the cookie cutters. We used to spend all day making cookies, but I notice as he gets older he loses interest sooner and I end up doing all the work. So this year we kept it simple and made drop cookies and decorated them really pretty!

Danny worked really hard on the ones with the gloppy icing...he did that while I was in the shower! Those were the plain cookies I made for Ryan and I so we didn't go into sugar much for that!!!
Other then that it was a semi-quiet weekend. Danny has his interview with Father Steve to receive his Light of Christ religious emblem for Scouting, and Saturday we saw the Harlem Globetrotters. Sunday we spent at home getting fire stupid and eating gobs of red meat for Valentines Day...which we do not celebrate. I despise Valentines Day, personally I think it's for suckers. But that's a blog for another day!

Warm Sun, Sandy Beaches and a Good Life...

Oh wait, that's not my life! THIS IS MY LIFE...
Yes Ladies and Gentlemen, we are having a "blizzard". Now just to be clear, this is NOTHING like the mid-Atlantic states have seen, but it is the only substantial snow we have had this winter. It is so important that they closed school LAST NIGHT, yes I said last night, not 4:45am, 7:13pm the night before....WOOHOO!

So where does that leave me? Do you REALLY want to ask that question? Okay, that leave me ALONE ... yes alone, to deal with the whining, and the complaints of boredom and also the shoveling and firewood and the hoping to God the roof doesn't leak or cave in on my head! I wonder....have you seen this man?

Me either! It says on my marriage certificate that I am his wife and on my sons birth certificate that he is a father. But today he is neither of those...not here taking care of us or shouldering any responsibility. You don't think I'm a little bitter, do you?
I hope wherever you are, that you are safe, cared for a loved!!! XXXOOO

May God Have Mercy on Your Soul

On Wednesday February 3, 2010 at 12:09pm we lost our last Grandparent, yes my Grandmother has passed and joined my Grandfather and Uncle. We all knew it was just a matter of time, but it doesn't make it an less difficult. From the time I received the news that phrase "May God Have Mercy on Your Soul" has played in my head, I can hear it in Tom Hanks, fake southern accent, voice from the Green Mile.
In an earlier post I had explained my guilt over the situation that destroyed my relationship with my Grandmother, but today it seems that guilt has turned into regret that I wasn't able to correct the situation before it was too late. I know that I cannot fix or change this and need to come to terms with it all, I think I will need to seek a little forgiveness in my life.
I have not always been the best friend, wife, mother, daughter, sister or, God Help Me, granddaughter. Starting today I will try a little harder to be more understanding and listen to what others have to say. I will not be so opinionated, outspoken or mean spirited. I will set an example for my son and try and walk a little lighter. I will, TRY, not to yell or swear at other drivers and will go out of my way for someone else to do a good deed.
With all of this being said, I am going to try REALLY, REALLY, REALLY hard to try and make amends and live a life that I will be proud of and my son can say, "My Mom always tried to do the right thing".

A Short Sunday Post

Not like the real Sunday Post, but I wanted to get something out today before the day got too crazy.
Still fighting this cold, but it seems to be better today. Got through Friday's den meeting without too much incident. The boys got finger printed and learned about the ratings on video games and being ready in case of an emergency...3 requirements in 1 meeting. Yesterday I went to the Klondike Derby to see our bigger Scouts and find my endurance for the cold...surprisingly I did VERY well. The Webelo took 2nd place in the pyro competition, I'm sorry I missed it, but by 11m I was cold and needed to get home.
After we went and saw Alvin and the Chipmunks and came home for a fire and pasta dinner....and a little beer.
Today we are off to church and hopefully a little more beer, fire and tacos for dinner.
Happy Sunday XXXOOO
